THE FIRST ENTRY

INTRODUCTION:
Welcome to Admirable Thoughts: Code Monkey Writings. Why do I have this blog here, you ask? Good question and it has a few answers:

  • First, I have two friends how have their own blogs for various things and their work has convinced me to join the world of writing out my thoughts for people to read.
  • Second, I figure if I did some writing of my thoughts it would help improve my writing and grammar skills, which need work.
  • Third, I wanted to know what it took to setup and maintain a blog for professional website design reasons, so if someone wants me to do it for them I can.

CONTENT:
What will the blog have for content, you ask? Well, probably a little about everything depending what is going on in my life from hiking, family, friends, sports, politics, religion, music, life, etc. It will be a way commenting more about the photos on the website. One of my friends, Todd, had me be a guess writer for his blog that mostly focus on Colorado baseball. So you can visit, my first blog article the DITr.

NAME:
The name, Admirable Thoughts: Code Monkey Writings, comes from keeping the Admirable nickname and adding the code name used in Chris’ blog as he does not refer to people by name in the Stondstead.com, but by a code names. Code Monkey was his initial term for computer people like him and I, but it evolved into a name for me.

UPDATES:
How offend will the blog be updated and how will we know, you ask? Good questions.
I will probably just write something once in while when I have time. As for knowing about when it is updated; you will just have to check in when you get a chance or read it when the I send out a note about the photos on the site being updated. However; this may change in the future.

NEWS STORY THAT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION:
Did you see this story? It is about a town in Louisiana that just got phone service for the first time on Jan 31, 2005! As I read the story, I thought how much we Americans take things for granted. There are third world areas, like the state of Louisiana, that are just now getting phone service for the first time, and only 135 years after the phone was invented. Someday they might get to enjoy many other things that we take for granted like radio, color TV, microwaves, or running water.

LATE NIGHT THOUGHTS:
“Ted Kennedy said today the Democratic Party is still the majority party. So you know what that means: Ted’s been drinking again.”

—Jay Leno – 1/13/2005

“Baseball says it will be looking more closely for unusual signs that players are on steroids. Like, for example, if Arizona starts winning.”

“After nearly two years, the White House announced the search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq is over. Of course it won’t really be over till the French say, ‘OK, we’re ready to go in.’ Then you know for sure. ”
