TALK ABOUT THE TRUTH, MANTLE, OR RUTH
Here are some of these stories that I thought I would pass along as I found them interesting, relevant, or funny.
LOST Sermon:
OK, if you on Lost fans who has not watch anything on season six since you just watch it on DVDs, do not visit the provided like. However, if you are a LOST fan who is up to date like me who want your church to use LOST more, check out this story from the “Things Christians Like” Blog.
Aid Money:
I find it weird that I did not hear anything about this story till I read it in here in this blog. Seems like a big deal to me.
John Breaux Statue:
I mentioned John Breaux before in one of my Monkey Meditation entries before. However, here is a follow-up to that story with a statue being created of him and added to the city of Louisville, Colorado.
Glenn McCoy Cartoons:
Glenn McCoy has cartoons that have made me really laugh. I thought I would link to a few news ones that were really great.
Football:
Congratulations to Floyd Little becoming the third Bronco Player who actual beat the barrier at the Football Hall of Fame and got in. Maybe, some day Sharpe, Mecklenburg, Gradishar, and others former Broncos will join you. Maybe. It is hard to say as the Hall of Fame continues to ignore most Bronco players. I guess I should be happy the team will now have three players after fifty years, six Super Bowl appearances, and two championships.
Baseball:
Spring Training has started for pitchers and catchers. I am so ready for some good baseball. Some early Rockies stories that am I excited to learn about.
EBrizarre:
I am starting to really like visiting the site, EBrizaree once a day just to learn worthless information. Today I learned another reason I love living in Colorado:
Bizarre fact #4026:
Did you know…
Researchers don’t know why, but people living in mountain states eat 30% more cookies than other people.
Babies:
Here are some congratulations to some friends/family who added new children to their homes. One of them is from a while ago, but I have not mention them in the blog. So I am going to now.

SHINE. MAKE’EM WONDER WHATCHA GOT.
OK, I wanted to post a link to this front page article in the Boulder Daily Camera Newspaper. Not because it is about one of the many, many great things the church we attend is doing. I am posting it because on the video that is part of the article includes has about six seconds of the back of Lynzee’s head. To identify her, the back of her head is in a pony tail.
She worked hard helping with the dress fittings over three days. So it is nice to see the back of her head (from the 24 second mark to the 30 second mark) of the video for all her hard work.

WITH QUESTIONS I CAN’T WAIT TO ASK YOU
Happy Groundhog’s Day! The most romantic day of the year at least for me. It was eight years ago today, I ask Mindy to marry me and she said yes. So now, we can celebrate our love over and over and over and over again on Groundhog’s day.
For those Monkey Pen members in Kansas, I hope you had a nice Kansas Day over the weekend. I know a few of you get to enjoy it every year by watching the Groundhog Day movie.
Finally, this year is an extra special Groundhog Day. Today begins the start of the last season of Lost.
What happen to Vincent?
Who is Jacob?
What is up with Smokey?
Why is Walt special?
What is the importance of Hugo’s numbers?
Who is alive and who is dead?
What is the island?
Will we be satisfied with the last season?
These are just a few of things I hope to get as gifts for this this Groundhog Day!
NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU GOT TILL IT’S GONE
Happy Anniversary to Admirable Thoughts: Writings of Code Monkey. February 1, 2010, marks the fifth of this blog. Every anniversary, I write a yearly review of the blog as a way to refresh our memories about why this blog exists. Also, I list stats about this blog that probably only I care about.
As always, feel free to leave comments, email me or contact me with the contact form about what you love or hate about the blog, changes you would like to see, or how this blog has changed you life.
Reasons For The Blog:
I had a few reasons for starting this blog. One was because I figured it would be good to know how to setup blogs in case I had to do one for professional reasons since I do a lot of website work. Another reason for this blog was to help improve my writing and grammar skills.
Titles:
After my first entry, I decided that once and in while, I would have a bullet point format of thoughts called Monkey Meditations. If the entry was not Monkey Meditations, the title of the entry would be a line from some song. Hopefully, it gives my blog a little bit of character to call my own.
There is a link that is in on the left side bar called Name That Title; so if anyone wanted to know what song the title was from, they could find out. Some lyrics get used for specific entry types and that is explained on the Name That Title page.
Stats:
- Entries:
Type Past Year Overall Entries 52 332 Monkey Meditations 7 56 The number of entries last year was down by 28. So I guess I was slacking some on getting some post done.

Based on those signed up for the blog’s emails updates, people who have emailed me about the blog, those those leave comments, and those who use RSS readers to know when the site has a new story I believe there about 40 regular readers. So the Monkey Pen (what I call the readers of the blog — a name that came from the readers) grew by two from last year! We have continued to grow every year.
There maybe others who check out the blog now and then as well. However, I don’t have a good numbers for that.
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule and reading this blog. I do feel privileged that you read it.
