ONE BY ONE, THEY TAKE ME BACK

Two stories come out not that long ago that have reminded me of some trips I have been on my life. Since they trigger some good memories, I thought I share them with you the stories and my thoughts.

Babe the Blue Ox’s head falls off
If you did not read this story, click on the heading and read it. The story is a good laugh. When I heard this story the first thing I thought was I have been there. I saw the massive Paul Bunyan and Babe in Klamath, California in late 2000. We took a short vacation to drive up from San Fran, CA to Eugene, OR and see the sites between those cities. It was a great trip and now I am glad we were there when Babe still had his head.

Passing of Joe Kennedy
It is so sad to see another young athlete, former Rockies pitcher, and a good guy from all accounts, past away. The first time I saw Joe Kennedy pitch was before his time with the Colorado Rockies. It was in May of 2002 when he was a Tampa Bay Devil Ray and Tampa Bay was in Seattle. My wife and I were there on our honeymoon (that is right, my wife went with me to a baseball game on our honeymoon, isn’t she great). The game was a pitching duel between Kennedy and Jamie Moyer. The Marines ended up winning the game 1 to 0, but both pitchers throw 4 hit complete games. My condolences go out to Joe Kennedy’s family.

Major Website Update: NOVEMBER 2007

Well, it seems right for another major personal website update. So, as in the past I will listed the new additions to the site here in the blog.

  • MT. MISSOURI (Under Mountain Menu)
This was the last 14er that I completed for the year 2007.
  • MINDY’S TRIP TO WASHINGTON D.C. (Under Trip Menu)
Mindy went to D.C. for work in September 2007.
  • ROCKIES 2007 PLAY-IN PLAYOFF GAME (Under Trips Menu)
Some of my pictures of the 2007 National League Play-in Game at Coors Field.
  • NLDS GAME 3 (Under Trips Menu)
Photos from my time at the National League Divisional Game at Coors Field.
  • FCA GOLF TOURNAMENT (Under With Friends Menu)
On this page are photos from a Golf Tournament that I was in with some friends for Faith Christian Academy.
  • ESTES PARK TRIP 2007 (Under With Friends Menu)
Mindy and her friends got to spend some time up a Estes Park in late September of 2007.
  • NLCS GAME 4 2007 (Under From Friends Menu)
I did not get to go to any of the National League Championship Games, but my friend’s Greg and Melanie did get to go to game four. These are pictures from them.
  • PREVIOUS POLL RESULTS (Under Other Menu)
The last poll did not get many votes. I guess the movie question did stir up much passion to vote. So being one not to give up, I am going with another movie question this time. Maybe this time it will get more votes since it is about Pixar movies.
  • HOME PAGE (Home Menu)
There is a new quote, a new pictures, and new poll question on the main page. As always, I would love for your voice to be heard, so vote. I would like more than 32 votes this time!
  • CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEAS – GIFT CARDS (Other Menu)
It is not a fund raiser. Really. Yet, it is a good way to help us get Lynzee a good education while helping you and your family out. Check it out sometime soon. It is a great way to get gift cards that you will buy anyways.

Also, for those of you who only read the blog entries when a major update of the site comes out, there were 18 new blog entries since the last major site update.

YOU’VE ALWAYS GOT AN ANSWER

It was done by FEMA and now by the Clinton Campaign, so I guess it must be the new, hot trend. It is were you have people ask you questions that you have written, so you look good and don’t have to deal with hard issues.

Being that this is the current thing to do, I have decided to jump on the bandwagon. So for this entry, I will have a rare interview with the writer of this blog done by the writer of the blog.

Me: First, thank you for taking time out of your schedule to answer my questions.
Me: You are welcome. I am always happy to talk with you.

Me: So, what makes this the best blog on the net?
Me: Oh, I do not think it is the best on the net. What makes it so special is all the great readers, The Monkey Pen. I love reading their comments. I hope a lot of them leave comments for this entry.

Me: What would make this blog better for you?
Me: If I got paid to do write it. Maybe, someone will send me money after reading this.

Me: As a younger person, I’m worried about the long-term effects of global warming. How does your plan combat climate change?
Me: Wait, that is one of the Clinton questions, you must have gotten that one mixed up by mistake.

Me: Oh, sorry, my mistake. uhmm…I gotta admit I…I really don’t know much about…you know…you… You…or the blog… but I’ve got some friends that are big fans and um…
Me: Woe, I know that is basically a quote from Conversation on David Crowder Band’s Collision CD.

Me: You got me again. You are good. So how was the DCB concert that you attend on October 24, 2007, at the Fillmore in Denver?
Me: It was great. David Crowder is a great show and night of worship. You should see him if you ever get a chance.

Me: Well, I want to thank you again for you time. It was great to hear you answers to these hard pressing questions.
Me: It was my pleasure.
